Dr. Ezzat Makawi, DDS

Dr. Ezzat Makawi is originally from Windsor, Ontario, just across the border from Detroit. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Windsor before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2023.

For Dr. Makawi, dentistry is about more than just treating teeth. He chose the profession because he wanted the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in his patients’ lives and help restore their confidence through their smiles. He enjoys getting to know his patients, making them feel comfortable, and helping them achieve healthier smiles they can feel good about.

Dr. Makawi has been with Afdent for three years and says his favorite part of being at Afdent is the people. He especially appreciates his coworkers and the friendly, supportive environment they have created together.

Outside of the office, Dr. Makawi enjoys traveling, gaming, and watching football. He is a huge Baltimore Ravens fan and has made it a personal goal to eventually watch the Ravens play in every NFL stadium. Whether he’s planning his next trip, catching a Ravens game, or relaxing with a video game, he enjoys making the most of his time away from dentistry.
